چکیده

Multivariate Decomposition for Hazard Rate Models We develop a regression decomposition technique for hazard rate models, where the difference in observed rates is decomposed into components attributable to group differences in characteristics and group differences in effects. The baseline hazard is specified using a piecewise constant exponential model, which leads to convenient estimation based on a Poisson regression model fit to person-period, or split-episode data. This specification allows for a flexible representation of the baseline hazard and provides a straightforward way to introduce time-varying covariates and time-varying effects. We provide computational details underlying the method and apply the technique to the decomposition of the black-white difference in first premarital birth rates into components reflecting characteristics and effect contributions of several predictors, as well as the effect contribution attributable to race differences in the baseline hazard. Structural Multivariate Function Estimation: Some Automatic Density and Hazard Estimates

Abstract: Structures such as independence of random variables in probability densities and hazard proportionality in covariate dependent hazard functions have important interpretations in statistical analysis. Such structures can be characterized by term eliminations from an analysis of variance (ANOVA) decomposition in log density or log hazard. Nonparametric estimation of these functions with...

Application of Multivariate Control Charts for Condition Based Maintenance

Condition monitoring is the foundation of a condition based maintenance (CBM). To relate the information obtained from the condition monitoring to the actual state of the system, it is usually required a stochastic model. On the other hand, considering the interactions and similarities that exist between CBM and statistical process control (SPC), the integrated models for CBM and SPC have been ...

Stochastic comparisons of multivariate mixture models

In this paper we consider sufficient conditions in order to stochastically compare random vectors of multivariate mixture models. In particular we consider stochastic and convex orders, the likelihood ratio order, and the hazard rate and mean residual life dynamic orders. Applications to proportional hazard models and mixture models in risk theory are also given. AMS Subject Classification: 60E...
